                   Aegean Spindles

*********************************************************************************

Aegeans are made with Boxwood, Carob, Cherry, Holly, Honey Mesquite, Mammoth Kauri, Mytle, Olive, Pear, Pistachio, Sycamore and Walnut.
$50 each. All shafts are Maple.

See Spindle Description page for a picture comparing the size difference between all Ed's spindles.

Ed free hands each design. Not only does he do his own creative geometrical shapes, he uses Anglosaxon runes and Linear B, a pre-Greek syllabary with ideograms. (See examples below spindles for sale) If you'd like a special symbol or design please bear in mind that circles and curves can be very tricky to execute on wood!

Oct 3: We took off a few days to visit our grandchildren in Idaho! It was wonderful to finally get a small vacation! A malfunctioning router greeted our return. After calls to our internet service provider, a trip to Salem, much head scratching and cable switching, it seems to be finally working consistently. There are a number of orders to process and mail tomorrow but I'm very hopeful that I'll be able to add some Aegeans to the website within the next day or two!
Thank you for your patience during this transitional time!

  SOLD #180 Carob 19 grams 0.67oz

  $247 Holly 23 grams 0.81oz

SOLD #145 Walnut 16 grams
SOLD #163 Walnut 14 grams

SOLD Bigleaf Maple 18 grams
SOLD Sycamore 18 grams
SOLD #237 Mammoth Kauri 11 grams * (See note below)
#243 Sycamore 18 grams

* Mammoth Kauri doesn't fall into the criteria for our Aegeans but Ed couldn't resist adding it due to the
age of this ancient wood which is dug from peat bogs in New Zealand. Scientifically proven to date before
the Ice Age. New Zealand only allows so much of it to be dug and sold each year.

Some designs Ed uses:

Anglosaxon Runes         Pre-Greek Linear B          4 Arrows                  Earth,  Moon & Stars          Branches, Fish, Cross
Joy, Earth, Chalice           "Spin"

Hellenic Elements       Chinese Elements

To Order: Ed is constantly making spindles so if you don't see one you'd like chances are there will be one soon!
If you'd like him to use a design that you pdf and he uses it, Ed retains the right to use that design for future
spindle.

Ed uses maple for all Standard spindles, Delights, Aegeans and Larks.

If your shaft breaks please email the type and weight of your spindle (Aegean, Delight, Kuchulu, Lark or Standard).  Ed will make a new shaft for your spindle.
