Turkish Larks
Sweet as a meadowlark's song, elegant and fast in flight. The slender crossarms sit
slightly below
mid-point
on the shaft.
Crossarms approximately
4", Shafts 5.5" Weight 15g -
28g depending on wood.
Ed uses only the hardest dense woods with tight straight grain for
the slender armed Larks.
No burled or spalted will
be used for a Lark.
Best suited for fine lace to light sock weight yarns, Larks are capable of packing on a
serious amount of spun fiber. These slick spindles are faster than the
Delights and Standard spindles, slower than the Kuchulu.
Oct 3: We took off a few days to visit our
grandchildren in Idaho! It was wonderful to finally get a small
vacation! A malfunctioning router greeted our return. After calls to our
internet service provider, a trip to Salem, much head scratching and
cable switching, it seems to be finally working consistently. There are
a number of orders to process and mail tomorrow but I'm very hopeful
that I'll be able to add a few Larks to the website within the next day
or two!
Thank you for your patience during this transitional time!

Order an additional Jay Shaft, a
shorter shaft (approx. 4.25"L), to fit your Lark. The arms will sit closer to the bottom than on the
Lark this creates a slightly faster spin and is great for sitting and spinning
in small spaces.
Two wood options for J-Shafts: Bolivian Rosewood and Maple. If you want a J-shaft for your previously purchased Lark
please email the weight in grams
which is written on
the bottom of the small arm.
Lark with Jay Shaft. In essence, a two in one.
If you want to order a J shaft for your
existing Lark, please write the
weight of your Lark in the comment/note section on the PayPal form, so we can
send the correct size.
Learn to Spin with a Turkish Drop Spindle Book
with 28minute spinning DVD. $18.00
This
20 page booklet filled with step by step instructions

Ed uses only maple for all
spindle shafts except for the tiny Kuchulus and the Jays. Thank you for understanding this
need for simplicity.

breaks please email the type and weight of your spindle (Kuchulu, Delight, Lark or
Standard). Ed will make a new shaft for your spindle.

Walking Spinner's Felted Spindle Pouch
This
pouch is designed for the spinner who loves walking while spinning. Wanda
designed this pouch after wishing she had a safe place for her wool and spindle
during early morning walks with her daughter and dog. The long strap
slings over a shoulder leaving both hands free to spin. This pouch is wide enough for your ball of
roving, spindle and a wallet.
Walking Spinner's Felted Spindle Pouch knits up quickly with large needles and wool rovings.
Pattern: FREE PDF when requested with spindle purchase.
Alone: via email pdf: $3.50
Snail mail: $5.50 which includes sheet protector and

Turkish Spindles are a challenge to make. The
crossarms need to balance for the the spindle to rotate without a wobble, and the
shaft a certain thickness & length. With woodworking skills, meticulous design
work, and mathematical calculation Ed is able to produce spindles that spinners
love.
